Favorites on WhatsApp: Discover how this new function works

This new feature, which also applies to calls, starts to be released today and will be available to everyone "in the coming weeks" (see below how to configure it).

With the update, a new option called "Favorites" will appear at the top of the app, alongside other filters such as "All", "Unread" and "Groups" .

The company explains that this new feature is different from the option to pin conversations, as it allows you to quickly find people and groups in the exclusive favorites tab.

"Whether it's your best friend or family group, whatever your 'favorite' is, it will appear in your conversations and calls, allowing you to quickly call them using the Calls tab," the company said.

How to add favorites to WhatsApp?

For messages, open WhatsApp, scroll to the top of the app and select the "Favorites" filter. Add the contacts you want to favorite.

For calls, access the "Calls" tab, tap "Add favorite" and choose the contacts you want to appear at the top.

According to the company, you can also manage your favorites by going to "Settings" > "Favorites" > "Add to Favorites."
